ABSTRACT

To establish and optimize a method for the detection of recombinant human midkine (rhMK) activity and verify its methodology, cell counting kit-8 (cck-8) method was used to measure the proliferation activity of rat knee chondrocytes. The specificity, accuracy, precision, linearity and robustness of the method were also verified in this study. The established method was proven to have good specificity because the buffer of rhMK and recombinant human interleukin-1 receptor antagonist have no obvious active effect; the recoveries of the samples with relative activities of 50%, 75%, 100%, 125%, 150% were in the range of 80.0% to 124.0% by statistical analysis, the relative standard deviations (RSD) of relative potency were all within 20%, the linear correlation coefficient, R2 ≥ 0.98, suggesting that the accuracy, precision and linearity of the method were good; the robustness correlation coefficient, R2 ≥ 0.92 and the ratio of maximum to minimum of sigmoidal dose-response were no less than 1.5, indicating that robustness of the methods was good. In conclusion, a bioactivity measurement method for rhMK was established and fully validated in this study and it provides a reliable method for the bioactivity analysis of rhMK routine samples during the development. This study was approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee of Shanghai Model Organisms Center, Inc. (approval number: 2019-0008-06).

ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the shoulder arthroscopic treatment of avulsion fracture of humeral greater tuberosity with double-row suture bridge. Methods:Retrospectively analyzed were the 13 avulsion fractures of humeral greater tuberosity which had been treated by shoulder arthroscopic double-row suture bridge at Bone and Joint Department, Guangzhou Liwan District Orthopedic Hospital from March, 2018 to March, 2020. There were 6 males and 7 females, with an average ages of 52.3 years (from 35 to 69 years). According to the Mutch classification, all the fractures of humeral greater tuberosity were attributed to the avulsion type. Of them, 3 were simple avulsion fractures of humeral greater tuberosity and 10 were complicated with shoulder anterior dislocation which was reduced manually before operation. There were 3 obsolete avulsion fractures of humeral greater tuberosity. Regular clinic and X-ray follow-ups were carried out. At the final follow-up, the pain, range of motion (ROM) and stability of the shoulder joint were assessed using visual analogue scale (VAS), American shoulder elbow scores (ASES), and Korean shoulder scores (KSS).Results:All the patients were followed up for an average of 12.3 months (from 10 to 16 months) postoperatively. No infection or shoulder instability was observed. At the final follow-up, the abduction and elevation averaged 164.6° (from 135° to 180°), the lateral external rotation 62.7° (from 40° to 80°), the internal rotation touch back test T10 level (from L2 to T6), the VAS 0.65 (from 0 to 2.5), the ASES 90.5 (from 78 to 100), and the KSS 91.5 (from 84 to 100).Conclusion:Shoulder arthroscopic treatment of avulsion fracture of humeral greater tuberosity with double-row suture bridge is minimally invasive and allows for repair of combined injury, leading to quick postoperative recovery.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the effect and mechanism of miR-96-5p on apoptosis of PC12 cells induced by maltol aluminum. Methods: In January 2021, PC12 cells at logarithmic growth phase were divided into blank control group and low, medium and high dose group. Cells in each group were treated with 0, 100, 200 and 400 μmol/L maltol aluminum for 24 hours respectively. Cells were collected and cell apoptosis rates were detected by flow cytometry, miR-96-5p and insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) mRNA expressions were detected by qRT-PCR, and the protein expression levels of cysteine protease 3 (Caspase3) 、activated cysteine protease 3 (Cleaved-caspase3) 、IRS1、phosphorylated protein kinase B (p-AKT) and phosphorylated glucose synthesis kinase 3β (p-GSK3β) were detected by western blotting. The target binding relationship between miR-96-5p and IRS1 was detected by double luciferase reporter gene experiment. The miR-96-5p inhibitor cells and negative control cells were constructed after transfecting PC12 cells with miR-96-5p inhibitor for 24 hours. The cells were divided into blank control group, negative control group, aluminum exposure group, aluminum exposure+negative control group, aluminum exposure+miR-96-5p inhibition group, and miR-96-5p inhibition group. After transfecting PC12 cells with miR-96-5p inhibition and IRS1 siRNA for 24 h, the cells were divided into aluminum exposure+miR-96-5p inhibition+negative control group and aluminum exposure+miR-96-5p inhibition+IRS1 inhibition group. The control group was cultured in complete culture medium, and cells in the aluminum exposure group were treated with 200 μmol/L maltol aluminum for 24 hours. Cells in each group were collected and the apoptosis rate, miR-96-5p and IRS1 mRNA expression levels, as well as protein expression levels of Caspase3, Cleaved-caspase3, IRS1, p-AKT, and p-GSK3β were measured. Results: After 24 hours of exposure, compared with blank control group and low-dose group, the apoptosis rates, relative expressions of Caspase3 and Cleaved-caspase3 proteins, and relative expressions of miR-96-5p in the medium and high-dose groups of PC12 cells were significantly increased, while the relative expression levels of IRS1 mRNA, IRS1, p-AKT and p-GSK3β proteins were significantly decreased (P<0.05). Targetscan prediction and double luciferase report experiment both proved that IRS1 was a direct target gene of miR-96-5p. In the transfection experiment, compared with the aluminum exposure group, the apoptosis rate, the relative expressions of Caspase3 and Cleaved-caspase3 proteins, the relative expression of miR-96-5p in the aluminum exposure+miR-96-5p inhibition group were significantly decreased, while the relative expression levels of IRS1 mRNA and IRS1, p-AKT and p-GSK3β proteins were significantly increased (P<0.05). In the IRS1 low expression experiment, compared with the aluminum exposure+miR-96-5p inhibition+negative control group, the apoptosis rate, the relative expressions of Caspase3 and Cleaved-caspase3 proteins in the aluminum exposure+miR-96-5p inhibition+IRS1 inhibition group were significantly increased, while the relative expression levels of IRS1 mRNA and IRS1, p-AKT and p-GSK3β proteins were significantly decreased (P<0.05) . Conclusion: The increased expression of miR-96-5p and the targeted inhibition of IRS1 may be one of the mechanisms of apoptosis of PC12 cells induced by maltol aluminum exposure.

ABSTRACT

With the increase in the medical level, the improvement of adverse drug reaction(ADR) monitoring systems, and the enhancement of public awareness of safe medication, drug safety incidents have been frequently reported. Drug-induced liver injury(DILI), especially liver injury attributed to herbal and dietary supplements(HDS), has globally attracted high attention, bringing great threats and severe challenges to the people for drug safety management such as clinical medication and medical supervision. Consensus on drug-induced liver injury had been published by the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences(CIOMS) in 2020. In this consensus, liver injury attributed to HDS was included in a special chapter for the first time. The hot topics, including the definition of HDS-induced liver injury, epidemiological history, potential risk factors, collection of related risk signals, causality assessment, risk prevention, control and management were discussed from a global perspective. Based on the previous works, some experts from China were invited by CIOMS to undertake the compilation of this chapter. Meanwhile, a new causality assessment in DILI based on the integrated evidence chain(iEC) method was widely recognized by experts in China and abroad, and was recommended by this consensus. This paper briefly introduced the main contents, background, and characteristics of the Consensus on drug-induced liver injury. Significantly, a brief interpretation was illustrated to analyze the special highlights of Chapter 8, "Liver injury attributed to HDS", so as to provide practical references for the medical staff and the researchers who worked on either Chinese or Western medicine in China.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES@#To investigate the influencing factors for asthma management and asthma control level in children.@*METHODS@#A total of 202 children with a confirmed diagnosis of asthma were enrolled. The questionnaire of asthma control level and family management was used to investigate the influencing factors for asthma control level and the indicators of family management. The awareness of childhood asthma and its management was analyzed among the parents, as well as the influence on asthma control level in children, and the association between them was analyzed.@*RESULTS@#Compared with the non-complete control group, the complete control group had significantly longer course of asthma and treatment time (P<0.05). The proportions of asthma attacks ≥3 times and aerosol treatment for asthma attacks >3 times in one year in the complete control group were significantly lower than those in the non-complete control group (P<0.05). The complete control group had a significantly lower proportion of children with frequent respiratory infection, wheezing during respiratory infection, or a family history of allergic diseases (P<0.05). The parents in the complete control group had significantly stronger awareness of short-term escalation to asthma medication after respiratory infection and significantly enhanced management of maintenance medication (P<0.05). Compared with the complete control group, the non-complete control group had a significantly higher proportion of children with abnormal pulmonary function at the initial stage (P<0.05). The level of asthma control in children was associated with short-term escalation to asthma medication during respiratory infection and initial lung function (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSIONS@#The level of asthma control in children is closely associated with the severity of asthma and the comprehensive management of childhood asthma. Early treatment and family management, especially escalation to asthma medication during the early stage of respiratory infection, are of great importance in asthma control. ABSTRACT

AIM: To observe the epithelial remodeling of femtosecond laser-assisted stromal lenticule addition keratoplasty combined with corneal collagen cross-linking(SLAK-CXL)in patients with progressive keratoconus, investigate the remodeling rules of corneal epithelial and influencing factors, and provide clinical data for further refractive correction.METHODS: Retrospective and observational study. A total of 28 keratoconus patients(29 eyes)who received SLAK-CXL from September 2020 to October 2021 were included. Preoperative and postoperative visual acuity, intraocular pressure(IOP), diopter, keratometry and corneal epithelial thickness(CET)were recorded. The trend of CET change was observed. The factors affecting CET were analyzed according to the thickness and depth of the lenticule.RESULTS: Flattest meridian keratometry(Kf)and steepest meridian keratometry(Ks)at 1mo postoperatively were significantly larger than those preoperatively(P<0.05). The thinnest corneal thickness(TCT)at 1, 2, 6mo and 1a postoperatively were significantly larger than preoperative(P<0.05). The CET changed with time, with the central CET showing a larger variation tendency. The CET of superior, superior nasal, nasal, superior temporal in paracentral area were thinned, the CET of superior, temporal, superior temporal in midperipheral area were thinned, while the CET of superior nasal was thickened in peripheral area at 1, 2, 6mo and 1a postoperatively. The variation of CET was not correlated with the thickness or depth of lenticule at 1a postoperatively(P>0.05).CONCLUSIONS: It is firstly found that the corneal morphology has changed after SLAK-CXL. CET decreases and then increases and then decreases again. At 1a postoperatively, the CET of the central and paracentral areas is thinner, while the CET of the midperipheral and peripheral areas is thicker. The degree of epithelial remodeling is not correlated with lenticule thickness or depth.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of a machine learning model based on radiomics of brain lesions on T 2WI in differentiating multiple sclerosis (MS) from neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD). Methods:Totally 223 MS and NMOSD patients who were treated from January 2009 to September 2018 in Beijing Tiantan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, Donghu Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, and Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University were analyzed retrospectively, and according to the proportion of 7∶3, 223 patients were completely randomly divided into training set (156 cases) and test set (67 cases). A total of 74 patients with MS and NMOSD who were treated in Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University and China-Japan Friendship Hospital of Jilin University from January 2009 to September 2018 and in Xianghu Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from March 2020 to September 2021 were collected as an independent external validation set. All patients underwent brain cross-sectional MR T 2WI, radiomics features were extracted from T 2WI, and features were selected by max-relevance and min-redundancy and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator algorithms. Then various machine learning classifier models (logistic regression, decision tree, AdaBoost, random forest or support vector machine) were constructed to differentiate MS from NMOSD. The area under curve (AUC) of receiver operating characteristics was used to evaluate the performance of each classifier model in the training set, test set and external validation set. Results:Based on multi-center T 2WI, a total of 11 radiomics features related to the discrimination between MS and NMOSD were extracted and classifier models were constructed. Among them, the random forest model had the best efficiency in distinguishing MS from NMOSD, and its AUC values for distinguishing MS from NMOSD in the training set, test set and external validation set were 1.000, 0.944 and 0.902, with specificity of 100%, 76.9% and 86.0%, and sensitivity of 100%, 92.1% and 79.7%, respectively. Conclusion:The random forest model based on the radiomic features of T 2WI of brain lesions can effectively distinguish MS from NMOSD.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To predict the inflammatory activity of patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) after 12 weeks treatment with recombinant human tumor necrosis factor-α receptor Ⅱ immunoglobulinG Fc fusion protein (rhTNFR:Fc) by Doppler ultrasonography at baseline. Methods:A total of 60 patients with AS were selected, and their general clinical characteristics before and after treatment were compared. Meanwhile, Doppler ultrasonography of the sacroiliac joint was performed to compare the Doppler parameters before and after treatment, and the correlation between baseline Doppler ultrasonography and clinical characteristics was analyzed, along with its diagnostic performance. The pre-treatment and post-treatment parameters were compared to the measured data followed by paired t-test for normal distribution, and the counting data were paired with Chi- square test. Pearson correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between pretreatment ultrasound parameters and pre-treatment disease activity. All statistical tests were bilateral, with a statistically significant difference of P<0.05. Results:After treatment, the overall score [(1.4±1.0) points vs (6.0±1.8) points, t=17.80, P<0.001], night pain score [(1.6±1.2) points vs (5.7±1.5) points, t=15.80, P<0.001], back pain score [(1.9±1.3) points vs (5.5±1.2) points, t=16.39, P<0.001], morning stiffness [(12±6) min vs (38±21) min points, t=8.93, P<0.001], Bath ankylosing spondylitis disease activity index (BASDAI) [(1.1±0.6) vs (4.6±1.3), t=12.41, P<0.001], ankylosing spondylitis disease activity score-C-reactive protein (ASDAS-CRP) [(1.0±0.4) points vs (3.7±0.9) points, t=22.01, P<0.001] and ASDAS-erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) [(1.0±0.7) points vs (4.0±0.8) points, t=20.10, P<0.001] of patients with ankylosing spondylitis were lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.001). Compared with AS patients before treatment, the color blood flow grading score was significantly lower after treatment [(1.7±0.8) points vs (3.9±1.1) points, t= 12.86, P<0.001). The post-treatment proportion of AS patients with bilateral sacroiliac joint blood flow signal was 67% (40/60), which was lower than 87% (52/60) before treatment, but the difference was not statistically significant ( P=0.251). After treatment, the peak systolic velocity (PSV), pulsatile index (PI) and resistance index (RI) were significantly higher than those before treatment [(30±17) cm/s vs (19±8) cm/s, t=-5.42, P<0.001; (1.55±0.69) vs (1.00±0.45), t=0.45, P<0.001; (0.81±0.11) vs (0.55±0.14), t=11.20, P<0.001)]. The end diastolic velocity (EDV) before and after treatment had no statistical significant differences [(6.7±2.5) cm/s vs (6.3±1.9) cm/s, t=0.80, P=0.428]. Baseline Doppler ultrasound parameters and pre-treatment clinical indicators showed that PI and RI were negatively correlated with BASDAI ( r=-0.49, P=0.005; r=-0.51, P<0.001) , and blood flow grades were positively correlated with BASDAI ( r=0.46, P=0.028). However, there were no significant correlation between PSV, EDV and BASDAI ( r=-0.12, P=0.176; r=0.03, P=0.756). Baseline Doppler ultrasound parameters were correlated with ASDAS-CRP ( r=-0.45, P=0.012; r=0.29, P<0.048; r=-0.52, P<0.035; r=-0.76, P<0.001; r=0.61, P<0.001). There was no correlation between EDV and ASDAS-ESR ( r=0.30, P=0.110), the other ultrasound Doppler parameters were correlated with ASDAS-ESR ( r=-0.36, P<0.001; r=-0.54, P<0.001; r=-0.61, P=0.021; r=0.41, P=0.028). The receiver operating characteristic curve was drawn with the baseline RI value as a variable. According to the ASDAS-CRP value, the diagnostic threshold for determining the presence or absence of AS activity after 12 weeks of treatment was 0.49, with an area under the curve of 0.817, sensitivity of 88.1%, specificity of 61.1%, positive predictive value of 66.7%, and negative predictive value of 86.1%. Conclusion:Baseline Doppler ultrasound correlates well with clinical indicators, among which baseline RI values is a good predictor of inflammatory activity status after rhTNFR:Fc treatment.

ABSTRACT

The present study evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of Liuwei Wuling Tablets combined with conventional drugs for the treatment of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in chronic hepatitis B. CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, CBM, PubMed, EMbase and Cochrane Library were searched for the relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs) published from database inception to February 2021. All the retrieved papers were independently screened, extracted and evaluated by two researchers, followed by Meta-analysis by Review Manager 5.4. Finally, 18 RCTs were included, involving 2 168 patients(1 106 in the treatment group and 1 062 in the control group). The Meta-analysis results showed that compared with conventional drugs alone, Liuwei Wuling Tablets combined with conventional drugs could increase the effective rate of clinical treatment by reducing serum hyaluronic acid(HA), laminin(LN), procollagen type Ⅲ(PCⅢ), and type Ⅳ collagen(Ⅳ-C) to improve liver function, decreasing the levels of total bilirubin(TBiL), alanine amino-transferase(ALT), and aspartate aminotransferase(AST), and improving the negative conversion ratio of hepatitis B virus(HBV) DNA. In terms of safety, there were no serious adverse reactions in the treatment group and the control group. The results showed that Liuwei Wuling Tablets combined with antiviral or other conventional liver-protecting drugs could improve liver function, treat liver cirrhosis, and reduce liver fibrosis with high safety. However, due to the influence of literature quality and quantity, multi-center and high-quality RCTs with large sample size are needed for verification.

ABSTRACT

Under the guidance of the theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), charcoal drugs are widely used in clinical treatment of various bleeding syndromes, in addition, they also have the effect in anti-diarrhea and anti-ulcer, but charcoal drugs are especially effective in stopping bleeding. According to the changes in the properties after processing, the hemostatic effect of charcoal drugs can be roughly divided into two categories. One is not used for hemostasis itself, but used for hemostasis after processing. The other is used for hemostasis itself, and the drug properties are changed or the hemostatic ability is enhanced after processing. By summarizing researches on historical evolution, processing mechanism and pharmacological effects of the commonly used hemostatic charcoal drugs, the author found that preservation or increase of active substances after processing was closely related to the hemostatic effect of charcoal drugs. The hemostatic mechanism mainly involves the influence of coagulation system and platelet function, etc. At the same time, combined with the theory of Qi chromatograph of TCM supramolecular, this paper puts forward the supramolecular research strategy on hemostatic mechanism of charcoal drugs, in order to provide reference for revealing the scientific connotation of charcoal drugs for hemostasis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To construct the targeting evaluation method of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparations based on supramolecular Qi chromatography theory, and to study the liver targeting effect of Bupleuri Radix on Pien Tze Huang. Method:The molecular connectivity index (MCI) was used to analyze the characteristics of imprinted template and liver targeting tendency of TCM mainly attributed to liver meridian and components of Pien Tze Huang, and combined with target dynamics and total statistical moment principle, aimed at the independent action characteristics of multi-component imprinted template of TCM, a method for evaluating the targeting of TCM preparations was established. Hepatoma rats in Pien Tze Huang group, Bupleuri Radix group, Pien Tze Huang+Bupleuri Radix group and blank group were tested and verified. Result:After the average value of MCI of TCM mainly attributed to liver meridian was deducted, the MCI similarity between Pien Tze Huang group and Bupleuri Radix group was 0.376 8, Pien Tze Huang+Bupleuri Radix group and Bupleuri Radix group was 0.988 2, so it was predicted that Bupleuri Radix could enhance the liver targeting of Pien Tze Huang. A system for evaluating the targeting of TCM compounds was established, including relative total uptake efficiency (RUET), relative total concentration (RCT), relative imprinted tendency (RITT) and relative imprinted variance (RIVT). The RUET and RCT of liver were the highest in all tissues (RUET=1.88>1,RCT=2.30>1), and the corresponding values of other tissues were all <1, indicating that Pien Tze Huang combined with Bupleuri Radix could increase its distribution in liver and enhance liver targeting. Except for plasma, the RITT and RIVT of other tissues fluctuated around 1.0, indicating that targeted modification did not change imprinted tendency of Pien Tze Huang and had no significant effect on the types of components. Conclusion:Under the guidance of supramolecular Qi chromatography theory, a targeting evaluation parameter system can be established to characterize the multi-component imprinted effect of TCM preparations by MCI and total statistical moment parameters, so as to realize the evaluation of targeting of TCM preparations. The addition of Bupleuri Radix can increase the liver targeting of Pien Tze Huang.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effect of plaque eccentricity on stent performance and stress distributions of artery and plaque during stent implantation in stenotic vessels. Methods The stent and idealized stenotic vessels were constructed, and 4 different eccentricities (0%, 20%, 40%, 60%) were attributed to the plaque. Then the stent recoil, stent foreshortening, and stress distributions of artery and plaque when the stent was expanded to the target displacement were analyzed by the finite element method. Results Along with the increase of plaque eccentricity, both stent recoil and stent foreshortening gradually grew. At the same time, the stress of artery and plaque also showed an increasing tread, and high-stress areas gradually approached the narrow side. The maximum von Mises stress of the plaque was much greater than that of the artery. Conclusions Plaque eccentricity had a certain effect on performance of the stent and stress distributions of stenotic vessels. In stent design, the geometry of the plaque should be considered to improve clinical effect of the stent in interventional treatment.

ABSTRACT

@#Corneal refractive surgery is a method of correcting refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism through corneal surgery. Refractive regression can often be seen in clinical practice, that is, refractive errors occur again after surgery. Refractive regression and the consequent poor visual quality often trouble patients. So far, different types and methods of corneal refractive surgery have the problem of refractive regression. It is believed that refractive regression is mainly related with epithelium thickening and change of corneal biomechanics. Refractive regression could be predicted and avoided by preoperative risk factors such as preoperative conditions and operative parameters, and can also be prevented by selecting appropriate refractive surgery and using medicine. Non-operative and enhancement surgery can be used to treat refractive regression that has occurred.

ABSTRACT

Based on the universal regularity of the automatic action of supramolecular "imprinted template" previously proposed, this paper further analyzed and summarized the historical evolution and research status of the toxicity of Chinese materia medica, and deeply analyzed the production of toxicity of Chinese materia medica by using the theory of supramolecular chemistry. After entering the human body, the aggregation of supramolecular "imprinted template" of Chinese materia medica can interact with the similar "imprinted template" of the subject supramolecular of human in the human body. In other words, the group of toxic components of Chinese materia medica can be identified with the corresponding hole channels in the body, which is the supramolecular chemical mechanism of the toxicity of Chinese materia medica. The dose-effect problem and detoxification treatment of toxic Chinese materia medica is closely related to the equilibrium constant and concentration. When the concentration of the drug with the same (similar to) imprinted template is the same, the toxicity depends on the equilibrium constant of its interaction with the target. Based on this, research idea of equilibrium constant of toxicity of Chinese materia medica was proposed. The equilibrium constant of supramolecular imprinted behavior can explain the toxicity of Chinese materia medica. By studying the equilibrium constant, the supramolecular interaction of the toxic effect can be revealed and the supramolecular system of Chinese materia medica can be well studied.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the clinical features of patients with COVID-19 in Chongqing Municipality. Methods:The clinical data, laboratory tests and chest imaging findings of 153 patients COVID-19 admitted in Chongqing Public Health Medical Center from January 26 to February 5, 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. According to the relevant diagnostic criteria, patients were divided into non-severe group (n=132) and severe group (n=21). The correlation between serum index changes and disease severity was analyzed. Results:The proportion of patients with underlying diabetes or chronic respiratory diseases in severe group was significantly higher than that in non-severe group ( χ2=11.04 and 6.94, P<0.05). The proportion of symptom-free patients in non-severe group was significantly higher than that in severe group ( χ2=4.09, P<0.05). The symptoms of fever, fatigue and muscle soreness in the severe group were more common than those in the non-severe group ( χ2=4.40, 14.42 and 22.67, P<0.05). Among the concomitant symptoms, the proportion of cough and shortness of breath in the severe group was higher than that in the non-severe group ( χ2=8.46 and 4.80, P<0.05). C-reactive protein and D-Dimer levels were higher in the severe group than those in the non-severe group ( Z=-4.39 and -1.96, P<0.05), and the number of CD3 + T lymphocyte cells, CD4 + T lymphocyte cells and CD8 + T lymphocyte cells in the severe group was lower than that in the non-severe group ( Z=27.25, 20.60 and 17.36, P<0.05). Compared with the non-severe group, both lungs and the right lung lower lobe were more susceptible to be involved( χ2=9.71和23.61, P<0.05). Conclusions:There are significant differences in underlying diseases, clinical symptoms, imaging manifestations and laboratory findings between severe and non-severe patients with COVID-19.
